The Fate of Mercy Alban is an awesome book, folks and who in the world was it that said gothics are a thing of the past—over ? Wendy Webb seems to have an exquisite knack for the genre. If you think you might like a brisk, atmospheric ghost story set on a wind-swept island, in a huge old house with secret passages, crazy relatives and a sprinkling of witchcraft; you’ll absolutely love The Fate of Mercy Alban. While you’re at it, pick up Wendy Webb’s other book, The Tale of Halcyon Crane, another fine gothic set on another wind-swept island.
